Mini Cooper Hatchback Review
WHATCAR? Review
The Mini comes as close as possible to replicating the kart-like feel of the smaller old car. Taut body control and outstanding grip help make it the sharpest handling car in this class. The steering gives you superb accuracy and feel, but is rather heavy around town. The ride is firm, especially with the optional larger alloy wheels.

Top Gear Review
Like the puppy that pees on your carpet before having a go at your best friend's ankle, one glance at the latest Mini's lengthy nose, soppy smirk and drooping headlamps may persuade you to forgive it anything.
Perhaps even the continued existence of the huge speedo at the centre of its dashboard, now even closer in diameter to the steering wheel, and still positioned two feet from the driver's line of vision up the road ahead.
Be strong. Try to stare beyond such distracting, self-consciously cute details; gimmicks that now include ventilation controls that follow the form of a winged Mini badge, and the option of an interior illumination pack with a switchable choice of orange, red, blue or pink 'mood' lighting. This new-generation Cooper still has lots of substance to recommend it; in fact, the 'S' version has won our Small Car of the Year gong.

Parker's Review
Strapping a supercharger to the MINI Cooper has elevated performance to a level that most other road users don’t expect. Those cutesy looks suggest a funky shopping car. This rather rubs salt into the wounds of other performance car drivers when they get left for dead on a twisty road. It takes a keen eye to pick out the bonnet scoop that is the only reliable visual indication the this is the hot Mini rather than just a tarted-up One. John Cooper can add a ‘Works’ performance pack that makes the MINI virtually untouchable on a country road.

YAHOO! Review
Clamber around the new MINI Cooper and youll find them. Like a bottle blondes eyebrows or the ticking second hand of a knock-off Rolex watch, the small details betray the MINIs true nature. In this instance its the Germanic build quality. Depending on your viewpoint about this sort of thing, thats either a sign of the times or a sad indictment of the parlous state of the British motor industry.
